Bridal Boxes Trousseau is one of those nice French words that managed to survive unaltered in the English language. Trousseaus went into bridal boxes. A great many must have been made in ages past, since it is an age-old custom for European brides to have a bridal box. Not many are traded, so we must assume that most are kept as coveted relics within the family. Not to worry. Ours are possibly better and more decorative. The folk-art painting, the visible team efforts of a village blacksmith and cabinetmaker. Our mini-collection of five bridal boxes from five countries and two continents is an eclectic lot, but somehow they all charm with their décor, colors, and fine detail.
